Requirements
The Social Impact Rising Star Award celebrates an emerging leader — an entrepreneur or executive aged 40 or under — who is making a meaningful difference in our community through innovative, purpose-driven work.
This award recognizes individuals who demonstrate visionary leadership, a strong commitment to community, and a passion for giving back, helping to build a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable Hamilton.
Individuals must have performed the act for which they are being nominated in a voluntary capacity in the community, over and above those required of them in the performance of their regular professional duties. Or, in the course of their professional activity, have brought outstanding/remarkable attention to the community on a provincial, national or international basis.
Criteria Includes:
- A clear and measurable social or community impact driven by their leadership or initiatives.
- Visionary leadership that inspires others and advances positive change.
- A sustained commitment to community building and giving back through time, resources, or mentorship.
- Evidence of innovation, creativity, and leadership potential within their business or organization.
Nominator must provide:
1. 200-word biography of the Citizen being nominated
2. Three (3) additional letters of support from other members of the community. These can be e-mailed to Katie at: k.stiel@hamiltonchamber.ca or uploaded in your application. Please no hard copies.

The award will be presented to the recipient or a designated individual at the event in 2025. All Hamilton Gives winners may be required to participate in media coverage of their respective award.
All documents and information submitted may be utilized to create a video presentation which will be shown during the awards ceremony.
